This is a great very dark brown rambouillet

sheep skin.  The skin came from a rambouillet flock here  in Fremont County. Wy.

The sheep was actually a black sheep, but

the sunburn on the wool causes it to look very

dark brown.

Rambouillet sheep are well known in the west, especially in the big range flocks of thousands of' sheep.  These sheep are big and vigorous, and have great flocking instincts, making them the best breed of sheep for the open areas of the range.  Rambouillet sheep are dual purpose, meaning they have excellent wool and good weight gains.

This is a very nice POLYPAY sheep skin

from Pavillion Wy.

Beth Walker and her Dad raise Polypay sheep.

The Polypay is a breed that originated in Idaho about 30 years ago.  Four breeds of sheep were combined to make up this versatile sheep.  First, the Finnsheep was used for its high birthrate, early puberty and short gestation.  Second, the Targhee was brought in for its superior fleece quality, large body size and long breeding season. Third, the Rambouillet sheep is a multipurpose sheep, with good wool and quick growth for meat.  It also is very vigorous and has great flocking instincts. Fourth is the  Dorset.  It was brought in for its superior mothering, carcass quality, early puberty and long breeding season.

It is  approx. 47"x 25"

and has a staple length of about 2".
